The British Army’s new Wildcat helicopter has recently come into service, replacing the very versatile Lynx aircraft that has bowed out after almost 40 years in the job.

The new state-of-the-art chopper will be used in a variety of tasks including reconnaissance, transportation of troops and equipment. Plus its Electro-Optical Device (EOD) means it will be used both day and night.

Forces Radio BFBS presenter, Chris Sturgess has been to RNAS Yeovilton, home of 1 Army Air Corps, to take a look at this new machine.
