BFBS Still Here For You During The Coronavirus Crisis

How we're supporting our Armed Forces during challenging times

BFBS HQ is pretty empty with most staff now working from home in line with Government guidelines to help keep people safe and well.

Many armed forces communities have already reached out to us and we are going that extra mile to support them during these challenging times:

From regular updates from local command on BFBS Radio and social media, to supporting the needs of specific military communities overseas by installing satellite TV points into the coronavirus isolation camps and giving out more set-top boxes and radios where they’re needed.

Forces News is keeping you up to date with armed forces efforts to fight Covid 19 through regular radio news bulletins and a daily half hour programme on BFBS TV and Forces TV at 17.30 – plus a news summary at 1230.

And you can still read global forces news, stories and in-depth analysis on all our digital channels.

Overseas you can hear the PM’s daily update live on BFBS Radio 2 and an additional daily live programme on BFBS Radio. And BFBS Gurkha Radio continues its services as usual.

Of course, entertainment has never been so important, so BFBS TV is running a full service if you’re overseas, with the best of UK TV, blockbuster entertainment and movie premieres.

We’ll also show any live sport still taking place – and bring you the best in other sporting coverage available courtesy of our relationships with the main sports providers here in the UK.

And, with cinemas closing, if you have access to our Cinelink service, you can watch recent movie releases. Its portability means this service can provide entertainment welfare to a variety of locations.

Finally, our Forces Media Academy remains open online and our hugely popular online Social Media Spouses programme has just started its next course.

We’re also still running recruitment campaigns, producing videos and podcasts, and helping the armed forces combat misinformation about COVID-19.

So BFBS is still very much here for you.
