Adam Powney BFBS Salisbury Plain

Adam found his love from radio at the age of 13, when he took on a two hour radio show with friends at the local community radio station. His passion didn’t stop, leading to him getting at BA (Hons) in Media Culture and Production, making websites, photography, videography and finally specialising in Audio. Let’s just say, he’s a jack of all trades.

Throughout his degree he got into industry, working in local and commercial radio in the creative teams and also managed his university’s student radio station for two years. He’s still holding onto the student radio life, being the Training and Development Officer for the Student Radio Association.

Radio aside, he spent two years playing flute and guitar, but it was too quiet. So he dropped it for the trumpet. He spent five years in a Rock and Jazz Orchestra, taking him around the world on tour.

He grew up with a passion for the forces, being a cadet, his Grandad a PTI in the British Army, Uncle a Sergeant in the Royal Air Force so it only seemed right to keep the forces in the family somehow.

Currently in BFBS Salisbury Plain making radio for the forces across the plain and the network.
