How Many Troops Are Currently In Afghanistan?

As the UK Government is reportedly considering nearly doubling the number of British troops in Afghanistan, we have taken a look at who is stationed there at the moment.

They are part of the NATO-led Resolute Support mission to train, advise and assist the Afghan security forces and institutions.

The mission was launched on 1 January 2015, immediately following the standing down of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
