White Helmets Bid Farewell To Their Hometown

The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display team have put on displays for millions of people over the last 90 years.

Today, the White Helmets said goodbye to their hometown of Blandford.

In February, the Army said 2017 would be the last season for the team as the unit no longer reflects the Signals in a digital age.

Mayor of Blandford Forum Peter Clark said: 

"We all take pride that they were stationed here.”

The riders will a route through the town centre to mark their final week of operation.

They arrived at 11:00, before riding through the town to a reception in the Corn Exchange.

The decision to axe the team comes as a result of the modernisation of the Royal Signals and a move to cyber operations.
