Survivors from Auschwitz have joined world leaders at commemorations marking the seventieth anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camp by Soviet troops.

Heads of state and representatives from many wartime Allies were at the commemorations in Poland.

In Britain, the Prime Minister and Prince of Wales met survivors ahead of a national event marking Holocaust Memorial Day.

Laura Hawkins reports from the Imperial War Museum in London.

Forces TV's Kate Gerbeau, meanwhile, has spoken to former British serviceman Eric "Winkle" Brown, who witnessed the horrors of the Nazi regime at the liberation of Belsen concentration camp.

Eric, now 96, is the Fleet Air Arm's most decorated pilot and his command of German also meant he interrogated some of Hitler's most infamous followers.
