The Service Complaints Commissioner has been getting to grips with the Army on a visit to Colchester.

Nicola Williams has been in post since the start of the year, and will assume greater powers when her role becomes "Armed Forces Ombudsman" next year.

Ms Williams has previously held other Ombudsmen positions, but has no military experience.

Her visit to meet members of 16 Air Assault Brigade coincided with the release of the MoD's Regular Armed Forces Continuous Attitude Survey.

It showed a fall in morale throughout the Armed Forces with one in four serving personnel looking to leave as soon as possible.
