Sky Sabre: All you need to know about the new 'cutting-edge' air defence system

Sky Sabre can hit a tennis ball-sized target travelling at the speed of sound, according to the Ministry of Defence.

British Armed Forces protection from threats from the air have been "significantly upgraded" due to the "spearheading technology" from their new air defence system – Sky Sabre.

The Army's 16 Regiment Royal Artillery has accepted the first section of Sky Sabre, with further deliveries ensuring capability across the globe, with all three services and with NATO.

UK Defence Procurement Minister Jeremy Quin said of Sky Sabre's "spearheading technology": "This cutting-edge of defence system is a clear demonstration of our warfighting capabilities to those who wish to do us harm."
