Festive spirit on HMS Queen Elizabeth as she heads home for Christmas

HMS Queen Elizabeth and her crew are counting down the days to Christmas by getting into the festive spirit.

The homeward-bound Royal Navy aircraft carrier filled 5 deck with festive decorations and Christmas lunch for all departments.

Currently on the return leg leading the Carrier Strike Group (CSG21) maiden deployment, HMS Queen Elizabeth shared some photos of her crew enjoying their well-deserved lunch.

With the CSG21 deployment approaching its final days, more of the fleet have been getting into the festive spirit.

Type 23 frigate HMS Richmond tweeted images of her crew enjoying some Christmas festive fun.

RFA Tidespring was the first of the CSG21 ships to return to Britain, sailing into Portland, Dorset, last week after more than seven months deployed.

Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art T45 destroyer HMS Defender hit another big milestone, travelling more than 50,000 nautical miles since her deployment.
