Reservists from 6 SCOTS have been brushing up on their skills ahead of a combat marksmanship test, in their first training session of 2020.
The unit is working up to its urban warfare exercise in the spring, while the test ensures that they are ready for deployment.
Some of the soldiers could be joining the regulars of 2 SCOTS as they deploy to Afghanistan later in the year.
Skill fade can be an issue for some reservists, as they are not training and handling weapons on a daily basis.
This can be more prevalent around the festive season, when reservists take time out, therefore making training weekends such as these important for getting personnel back up to speed.
Training sessions will intensify for the unit over the next few months, as they continue to build their skills ahead of moving onto urban operation exercises during the spring.
