Remarkable footage: Gruelling 'road to heaven' crawl for Taiwan's wannabe frogmen

Frogman training is completely voluntary, they train up for the unit out of patriotism and a desire to push their personal limits.

After weeks of training, all that stands between a Taiwanese soldier and the acclaim of joining Taiwan's Navy elite – the Frogmen – is a 100-metre path of jagged rocks known to soldiers as the 'Road to Heaven'.

Taiwan's version of US Navy seals, they mark the end of 'Hell Week' with the brutal 'Road to Heaven' crawl, bringing to a close 10 weeks of a gruelling course that ultimately decides who becomes a Frogman.

They are already soldiers and the Frogman training is voluntary but they are driven to train up for the unit by patriotism and a desire to push their personal limits.
