British Forces complete last lap in Brunei leg of Queen's Baton Relay

British Forces Brunei have played their part in the Queen's Baton Relay, completing the Brunei leg of the baton's epic journey across the Commonwealth.

Lance Corporal Simson Rai kicked off proceedings with a bagpipe interlude as Gurkha Major Ramkumar handed the baton to Commanding Officer Lt Col Andrew Todd.

Soldiers ran with the baton in two groups, with Captain Begindra Limbu completing the Brunei leg of the relay.

It began in England on 7 October 2021, with the Queen placing her message to the Commonwealth inside the baton.

The monarch's message will be read aloud at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham – after it has visited all 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
