In Pictures: HMS Spey And HMS Tamar Sail Through Panama Canal

Offshore Patrol Vessels HMS Spey and HMS Tamar have sailed through the Panama Canal and into the Pacific Ocean.

Acting as the eyes and ears of the Royal Navy, both ships will begin a five-year ongoing presence in the Indo-Pacific, deployed from the eastern shores of Africa to the west coast of the USA.

No permanent home has been assigned to the pair – instead, they will use Pacific bases and ports which best meet their needs and mission.
