Rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones dons Army fatigues to join troops on exercise

The Wales and Lions rugby captain spent time visiting troops on a live-firing range at the Castlemartin Training Area in Pembrokeshire.

Wales and Lions rugby captain Alun Wyn Jones was a guest at Castlemartin Firing Range to watch British troops in action on Exercise Iron Storm.

Wearing Army fatigues, he was introduced to soldiers from 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh, the King's Royal Hussars, 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment and 19 Regiment Royal Artillery at the west Wales range.

While on the training ground, Mr Jones observed live firing exercises and met troops to discuss teamwork and leadership.

In a tweet, the official page for the British Army in Wales said it was an "absolute pleasure" to welcome the rugby legend to the exercise at Castlemartin.
