IN PICTURES: Russia Welcomes Military Music Acts

Moscow hosted the 'Spasskaya Tower' International Military Music Festival.

The 12th Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival has reached a dramatic conclusion in Red Square, Moscow.

More than 30 ensembles from 12 nations took to the stage over 10 days, each night concluding with a firework display close to the Kremlin walls.

The Best Shots From The Festival

The Band of the People’s Liberation Army of China took first prize amongst the 'foreign' performances, which included Egyptian, Italian and South Korean representation.

Hundreds of thousands voted in the competition, which also welcomed two international acts.

The Carabinieri band of Italy were also at the event (Picture: PA).

British dancers took part in Irish and Highland dance performances with the International Celtic Dance Team, performing alongside the International Celtic Pipes and Drums.

Throughout the events, workshops also took place and children dazzled audiences with breathtaking horse shows.

The festival also featured a light show, projected on to St. Basil’s Cathedral.
