Watch: Army drummers hit the halfway point

The soldiers are being tested on everything they've learned – from reading music to playing their chosen instrument.

A group of trainees from the Army School of Ceremonial have completed their first assessment, halfway through their 12-week training to become drummers.

The soldiers were tested on skills learned over a period of six weeks – from reading music to playing their chosen instrument, and Forces News was on hand to watch the assessments.

The next thing for the soldiers in the second phase of the training, is to step away from the classroom and learn how to march and play at the same time.
