Fun On The Flight Deck: Sailors Play Swedish Longball On Board HMS Richmond

The game, held on the frigate's flight deck, involved "lots of confusion", according to HMS Richmond's Twitter page.

Royal Navy personnel on board Type 23 frigate HMS Richmond have found a way to stay active while at sea – playing Swedish Longball.

The sport is a version of cricket and baseball and involves runs, safe zones and, according to HMS Richmond's Twitter page, a lot of confusion.

The ship is currently deployed as part of Carrier Strike Group 21 – led by HMS Queen Elizabeth.

In June, personnel on board HMS Queen Elizabeth used the carrier's flight deck to practise their cricket skills with a session in the nets.
