The Foreign Secretary is to travel to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, to attend UN-led peace talks aimed at bringing the conflict in Yemen to an end.
Jeremy Hunt will become the first UK minister to meet Houthi officials since the conflict in the country began in 2015.
The Foreign Secretary, who will meet UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths, said:
"Yemen is the world's worst humanitarian catastrophe, and these peace talks represent the best opportunity in years to move towards the political solution the people of Yemen urgently need."
Forces loyal to the then-incumbent government, backed by Saudi Arabia, have been fighting with the Iran-backed rebels but the two sides agreed to implementing a broad prisoner swap during the talks in the Swedish capital.
