First Sea Lord wishes Navy 'peaceful' Christmas

Members of the service have been deployed worldwide this year, including the Carrier Strike Group mission.

Members of the Royal Navy have been thanked by the First Sea Lord in a Christmas message.

In a year of constant maritime activity, including the landmark Carrier Strike Group deployment, First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key delivered a personal message of gratitude.

"Whether in the air, on the sea or below it, whether ashore helping those in distress or rehearsing our skills in order to ensure peace and security around the world, each and every day the Royal Navy has been hard at work," he said.

Thanking allies and partners for co-operation in 2021, Adm Key concluded his message by wishing all who worked for and with the Navy a "very merry and peaceful Christmas".
