Falklands Schoolchildren Set For Military Repatriation Flights

The Government is offering priority air travel to allow UK schoolchildren from the Falkland Islands to return home.
The service will be provided by the South Atlantic Airbridge, a frequent direct air service owned and operated by the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory and rely on the UK to guarantee its security.
Since the end of the Falklands War in 1982, British troops continue to have a military presence on the Islands, centred at RAF Mount Pleasant.
British Forces South Atlantic Islands staffs Mount Pleasant, with over 1,000 personnel from all three services there.
The next Airbridge flight is due to leave the UK later this week.
