Prince Harry got more than he bargained for when his hand was bitten by a naughty Shetland pony as he reached out to stroke it.
Harry and his fiancée, former Suits actress Meghan Markle, met with the Band of the Royal Marines along with the infamous mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, Cruachan IV, at Edinburgh castle.
But as he reached out to give the pony a friendly pat, the famously grumpy mascot gave Harry’s hand a sharp nip.
Cruachan IV has previous with the Royal family after trying to eat the Queen's posy during a visit to Stirling castle.
Ms Markle made no attempt to disguise her giggles, as the Prince shouted “hey!”
Pony Major Mark Wilkinson, said:
"They were asking about him saying he's a wee star, he knows he's on parade and is showing off - they said it was lovely to meet him."
The Royal couple were visiting Edinburgh castle for the start of a tour of Scotland.
