Head Of The Armed Forces Calls For Clarity About Britain’s Role After Brexit

In his first Christmas Lecture as Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter warned threats to the UK are “proliferating and intensifying very rapidly”.

General Carter’s lecture comes just days before a promised announcement of the ‘Modernising Defence Programme’ by the government.


240-Year-Old Unit Is 'Put On Hold'

A Royal Artillery Battery that traces its history back to 1779 is saying goodbye. 

As the Army develops new capabilities, 16 Battery RA is being put into what's called 'suspended animation'.

It is expected to be reactivated with new weapons systems in the mid-2020s.


UN Secretary General To Attend Yemen Peace Talks

Antonio Guterres will be in Sweden where meetings between the Yemeni government and Houthi rebels will be held.
