DTG and BFBS cyber event

BFBS is co-hosting an event to demonstrate the top cyber threats affecting the UK media sector.

'Cyber-Doomsday: How prepared is the broadcast and media sector to defend national security' is a virtual event, jointly organised with the UK Digital TV Group (DTG), with the support of the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Dstl (the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory).

You can register for the event, which will be held from 10:00 UK time on Thursday 25 November over Microsoft Teams, here.

The event will address how prepared organisations are to prevent hackers from accessing channels to spread disinformation that might affect the UK economy.

The NCSC will work with Dstl and DTG to explore the worst-case scenario for British media – resembling a 2015 cyber attack on French TV5 Monde.

Best practice methods used by the Ministry of Defence will be shared in an effort to protect national security indirectly, through the broadcast ecosystem.

'Cyber-Doomsday' has been arranged by Dr Asaad Moosa, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at BFBS, who is a global advisory board member of cyber security certification organisation EC-Council and also chairs the cyber security committee of the DTG.

Register for the 'Cyber-Doomsday: How prepared is the broadcast and media sector to defend national security' virtual Microsoft Teams event using this link.
