Could this new kit save military personnel from the extreme cold?

A new system, designed to keep injured personnel warm in extreme environments while they receive help, is being put to the test.

The current survival bag in use by the UK and US often fails to protect personnel from hypothermia.

The new kit is made up of an inflatable mattress to insulate from the ground, a bag with all the heavy fibres concentrated only around the most essential parts of the body and a waterproof layer.
