A British soldier has become a multi-millionaire after he placed a 25p bet online.
Lance Corporal Jon Heywood told Forces TV "honestly I was just about to go to bed and the advert came on TV and I thought - I'll have a dabble".
It was around midnight on the 6th October when Mr Heywood discovered he had won the huge sum "I thought it was a hoax at first. I thought 'no, this isn't real'".
"I haven't slept well since Tuesday and haven't stopped drinking champagne".
The 26-year-old who serves with 157 Welsh Transport Regiment in Cardiff said he was overwhelmed by his win but vows to use the money to get the best possible medical treament for his Dad who is awaiting a heart and lung transplant. "I'll throw every penny at getting him better".
Mr Heywood won the jackpot £13,213,838.68 playing Betaway's Mega Moolah game which is set to be a world record for the largest payout in an online slot machine game.
When describing how he feels now he said "I feel sick, I still don't believe it, I really don't. It just doesn't happen. I'm taking it a day at a time".
Mr Heywood added he will also be donating to the Army Benevolent Fund. He said:
"ABF, it's the obvious choice, I've been in the Army nine years and I've seen what [the charity] does for people so I'd like to donate money to them".
The soldier added that one thing he knows he will be changing is his Fiat Punto!
