For the majority of their 290 year history The Black Watch have been fighting their enemy on foot.

However now, as part of Army 2020, soldiers from The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS) are having to get to grips with armoured vehicles.

Troops from 3 SCOTS are getting behind the wheel of one of the British Army's most advanced bits of kit, the Foxhound.

The Army's newest protected patrol vehicle was rolled out towards the end of Op Herrick and will be the workhorse of the mechanised infantry for many years to come.

Ali Gibson joined them at the start of their journey to light mechanized infantry.
