A Royal Navy squadron has produced an answer to its most commonly asked question – "Why does it say 'ARMY' on the tail of the Commando Wildcat?"

847 Naval Air Squadron, the only Commando Helicopter Force squadron of the Royal Navy to use the Wildcat AH1 combat helicopter, tweeted a light-hearted video, with Sergeant Simon Wynne ultimately providing the answer.

Royal Marine Sergeant Simon Wynne said: "As the aircraft are rotated from the Army, we fit them with a few additional pieces of equipment to make them fit for service in the Littoral role, but we don't repaint them. Hence the Army decal."
