Legendary singers Dame Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins have come together to record a duet of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ to raise money for the NHS Charities Together.
The Welsh Soprano Katherine had this say about the song,
“It is a song of hope, and Dame Vera and I sing this in honour (and in aid) of our superhero NHS workers and their families.”
Katherine, who also appeared as Octopus on The Masked Singer earlier this year, spoke to BFBS radio’s Mark McKenzie about the new single release ...
Talking about the new release Dame Vera Lynn said:
"The words 'We'll Meet Again' speak to the hope we should all have during these troubling times."
We’ll meet again was originally recorded in 1939 by Dame Vera Lynn, and is one of the most famous songs to come out of the Second World War, it makes reference to the soldiers leaving home to go and fight for their country.
100% of the proceeds from the new version song will be donated to the charities to help them provide essential support for the frontline workers.
The money raised by NHS Charities Together provides a number of vital services including:
- Funding well-being packs and gifts
- Covering cost of parking, travel and accommodation
- Volunteer expenses
- Other necessary items that NHS staff might need
