Following the success of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards' 2020 poll to find out who grew the best Movember moustache, Wales’ Senior Infantry Regiment are at it again and this time the photos are undeniably outstanding.
Due to so many Welsh Guards personnel being deployed overseas this Movember - a month which sees those taking part growing moustaches to raise money and awareness for men's health charities - there were not as many candidates ready to attempt their best 'Blue Steel' pose from Ben Stiller's film 'Zoolander'.
However, with their motto being Cymru am Byth, or Wales Forever, these soldiers gave it their all to show off their facial hair.
But, which do you think is the most impressive moustache? You can vote in the comments of the Facebook post below:
British Army regulations state that if a moustache is worn, it must be trimmed and not below the line of the lower lip.
Beards and whiskers are only to be worn with authority, which will usually be granted only on medical or religious grounds, or where tradition permits.
Essentially, if you're going to have facial hair, go with the tache because, as long as it's tidy, you can probably get away with it.
Stiff upper lip
Photos of the six moustache connoisseurs are on display across all the Welsh Guards social media platforms with facial hair fans being encouraged to vote for the tache they believe is the best.
Photo one appears to have received the most positive response so far with comments like this one from Robert Deans, saying:
"Definitely Number 1 he’s Officer Material, Looks smart and well groomed 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
While Mary Poulton says:
"Moustachetastic..sublime my friend 😉"
Facebook user Graham Thomson commented on soldier one's Movember moustache by saying:
"It has to be No. 1 for growth and flamboyancy. Very late Victorian. 💂"
@RedCosmonaut on Twitter believes that number one is "far and away the winner" and goes on to say that the soldier's moustache is:
"... pure perfection. Bristling and quivering with Guardsman Esprit de Corps. Superb."
@kjlast on Instagram's vote goes to picture number two because they seem:
"... to be going for the complete 'Old Bill' look from the First World War !!! 😉"
Martina Millard compliments all the candidates by proclaiming they all look handsome but when it comes to picking a winner, number three has her vote.
@RedCosmonaut on Twitter describes candidate three as "Dick Dastardly meets Casanova".
Ellen Buckley on Facebook does not mess about and simply says:
"No 3 because he's a handsome young man with a nice moustache."
Amanda Nash on Facebook, whose partner is a redhead, said:
"As the druids said 'the gods only gave the strongest red hair'".
@GBooth74 and @cym11 on Instagram both voted for candidate four with the former commenting that the moustache is "a classic".
Soldier number five has a lot of support from people who, while voting, also post the Fijian flag emoji like Mìľľěý Ģàh Mìľľêý, Řø Bã, Rusila Tamoi Rika, Dïvønø Męrę, Timoci Naitutu, Vakasavuwaqa Yauvolii, Ulamila Wati and Etika Macedru.
On Instagram, @victoriaclarefenton's vote goes to candidate six due to his moustache's "luxuriousness and evenness".
Donna Sadler on Facebook voted for one and six because her father was a Welsh Guard and "he really would have appreciated 1 and 6."
