Battling Against Loneliness In Older Veterans

The problem of loneliness among older veterans is being tackled by a new project in Nottinghamshire.

Forces Friends is a partnership between The Royal British Legion and Age UK, to match younger veterans with older ones for conversation and companionship.

The scheme recently won a Soldiering On “Working Together” award.

We went to see Ron Lamboll, a 96-year-old veteran of the second world war, to see how spending time with Stuart Barnett, an Iraq War veteran, is helping beat back loneliness.
