Baking Blind: Former Navy Commander's New Cooking Mission

A former Royal Navy Commander who lost her sight has turned to cooking.

Penny Melville-Brown launched an online cooking project called Baking Blind.

She's been shortlisted for a prestigious prize for blind people who won't let their disability stop them.

The Holman prize commemorates James Holman, who became blind while serving in the Royal Navy in the early 19th century.

As the first female barrister in Royal Navy history, Penny is no stranger to challenges.

And if she wins the competition, she wants to take her cooking skills worldwide, to show that sight-loss is no barrier to cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
