Charles III has been officially proclaimed after a historic Accession ceremony in which military personnel played a key role.

The King served in the Royal Navy, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and both great-grandfathers.

His career saw him take command of coastal minehunter HMS Bronington, while he also qualified as a helicopter pilot, flying Wessex helicopters with 845 Naval Air Squadron.
