PM puts money into Poppy Appeal tin before giving poppies to his wife – and his pet dog

The Prime Minister has been seen buying poppies outside Number 10 Downing Street.

Rishi Sunak donated to the Poppy Appeal and then gave his wife, Akshata Murthy, and dog Nova, a poppy each, flanked by representatives from the appeal.

The Royal British Legion (RBL) has launched its national Poppy Appeal in London with a huge red wall of poppies that tells the stories of the charity's beneficiaries.

The RBL is encouraging people to wear a poppy to show they recognise the service and sacrifice of serving personnel, veterans and families.
