Personnel have helped to clear up at RAF Gibraltar after heavy seas left the runway covered in debris.

Troops from the base, the Royal Regiment of Scotland, together with members of the Gibraltar Defence Police, Airport Fire Service and Aircraft Ground Support Unit assisted in removing boulders, plastic and seaweed.

In a tweet, RAF Gibraltar said: "We appreciate everyone's assistance in allowing us to clear the debris and make the airfield operational again."
