Falklands 1982

Hidden history: discovering ghostly clues of the Falkland Islands' past

After Argentina surrendered the Falkland Islands in 1982, British and Argentinian troops gradually left the island.

By early August, the soldiers were almost completely gone, but left behind were a number of ghostly clues from the past.

Whether it is the plimsolls scattered all over Mount Tumbledown or the overboots used by troops on Mount Harriet, artefacts on the island give an insight into the history of the Falklands.
