MavGeeks Track Santa: The key role the RAF plays in spotting Father Christmas

On Christmas Eve, join BFBS the Forces Station as they speak to Santa trackers from around the forces world such as NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), Air Services Australia and RAF Fylingdales in the UK.
Listen between 15:00 and 17:00 UK time this Christmas Eve on BFBS the Forces Station and you will hear from Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, whose role also includes making sure the RAF keeps an eye on Santa's whereabouts over the festive period.
He said: "At this time of year we retune one of our radars at (RAF) Fylingdales so that it's especially able to pick up reindeer and sleighs.
"From 23 December until 26 December we refocus the radar.
"The Royal Air Force plays a key part in monitoring the progress of Santa and his sleigh."
BFBS the Forces Station broadcasters Gini Carlin and Jamie Gordon call on fellow Santa spotters at BFBS stations overseas with guests from Brunei, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus and Gibraltar.
The aviation-mad pair explain how the British Armed Forces are helping Santa have a speedy and safe journey this Christmas as he delivers presents to children all over the world.
The programme will be available to listen to again on bfbs.com.
