Army explosives team's search dog gains her sea legs during Exercise Austere Wolf

An Army explosives team's working dog was given the rare opportunity to work at sea.

Search dog Meg gained her sea legs on RFA Mounts Bay, after being given the search opportunity during Exercise Austere Wolf.

After experimenting with the best way to get her on board, Meg, who has never searched a vessel before, was given protective boots so her paws didn't get damaged by the rough surfaces throughout the ship.

She was transported to the ship via boat transfer, then the fast rescue boat picked her up, and that craft was then winched up to deck level of RFA Mounts Bay to make her boarding less stressful.

Meg is one of two Arms and Explosives Search (AES) dogs on the exercise working alongside the search teams.
