Forces TV will celebrate the UK’s servicemen and women on Saturday with Armed Forces Day Live (2017), a special live broadcast from Liverpool.
The city is hosting the Armed Forces Day National Event, honouring Britain’s military past and present.
The programme will offer unrivalled coverage of the National Event, which features the Royal Marines unarmed combat display, a Red Arrows air display, RAF dog handling exercises and a parade of around 1,000 serving personnel, veterans, cadets and marching bands through the city centre.
Live coverage on Forces TV runs from 11am until 12:30pm, with a highlights programme at 17:30.
Presenter Tim Cooper will bring us all the colour and atmosphere as he follows the procession through the streets of Liverpool, as well as some special reports celebrating the work of the British military in the UK and around the world.
The programme will examine the support available in and around Liverpool for veterans and their families, as well as looking back at the city’s wartime history, including its key role in the Battle of the Atlantic.
Armed Forces Day Live (2017) will also offer viewers a ‘welcome’ to Liverpool, showcasing some of its iconic landmarks and demonstrating why Liverpool is a great place to live - and we hear from the residents themselves, including legendary Scouser Sir Ken Dodd!
