BBC One, Sunday 17th September, 5.35 pm.
In May 2016, Prince Harry announced that Toronto, Ontario, would step up to host the next Invictus Games. The 2017 takes place from September 23 to 30 and will see more than 550 ill, injured and wounded servicemen and women from 17 allied nations compete in 12 adaptive sports. This programme looks ahead to what we can expect from the games, games that will use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding of and respect for those who serve their country, and their loved ones.
“I always hoped the Invictus story would continue after the London Games. And having seen so many new people benefit from their journey to Orlando, I definitely did not want it to end [there]. So I am absolutely delighted that the Invictus Games legacy will continue when Toronto hosts the third Invictus Games.”
