The British Army's Foot Guards have taken time out of their ceremonial schedule to send an important video message to the British and Irish Lions rugby squad.

Dressed in their renowned red tunics and bearskin caps the soldiers from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales sent their best wishes along with "Three Cheers" to the players, as they prepare for a monumental Test series in New Zealand.

Ahead of the Queen's Birthday Parade, Army personnel from the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Scots Guards, Irish Guards and Welsh Guards took to the drill square at Wellington Barracks to cheer on their rugby-playing counterparts.

On Saturday it was the turn of The Irish Guards to Troop the Colour in front of thousands of adoring onlookers.

The troops from the Army's Household Division hope the short video message will inspire the Lions as they prepare to take on the mighty All Blacks... just click above to watch!
