Record numbers of servicemen and women have taken part in this year’s 'Mountain to Sea' event in Cyprus.
The annual mountain bike race takes riders from the British military base at Troodos – 2,000 metres above sea level – right down to the coast at Episkopi.
This year there were 39 teams taking part with the winners completing the course in two hours and 41 minutes.
It was no easy feat, as race organiser SSgt Mark MacLaughlan explained:
"We've got 60 kilometres of off-road mountain biking... It's 'Mountain to Sea' in the title, however, it isn't all downhill."
"There is... some steep uphill sections... certainly as you head towards the end, you'd be surprised, actually, there's quite a few steep uphills towards the finish line itself."
SSgt MacLaughlan said that the race was a great opportunity to involve everyone from the armed forces community in Cyprus in the event.
