There are fears of a major humanitarian disaster in the Iraqi city of Mosul. Tens of thousands of civilians are trapped in the oldest part of the city, unable to escape the final stages of the fighting.

The United Nations says it's received credible reports suggesting more than 230 civilians trying to flee western Mosul have been killed by Islamic State in under a fortnight.
