Private Aaron Eastman from 1 Armoured Medical Regiment and based in Paderborn, Germany, has just completed the gruelling Expert Field Medical Badge competition which is run every year by the US Army.

He managed to earn the respected US Army Europe's 2017 Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB).

From the 215 candidates that took part, only 64 managed to pass the five-day challenge and Aaron was one of them.

The Expert Field Medical Badge is an extremely prestigious award, very much sought-after by a medical professional in the British Army.

If you're thinking of taking on the EFMB here are a few tips from Aaron...

"Study hard, be prepared to have late nights, early mornings. You're going to be tired. You're going to be a bit grouchy, lethargic but stick with it, put the effort in."

Simple things like failing to check a pulse will mean that a soldier has failed. Only excellence & proficiency will do.

"It's only two weeks in total so just do your best and always trust what you get taught."
