New virtual reality technology might offer the military an answer to the high-risk and cost of parachute training.
The technology combines an Oculus Rift VR headset with a purpose-built rig that allows the user to control a simulation using a real parachute harness and controls.
Creators, Para Parachute, believe the tech could be used to provide cheap initial training without the need for expensive real-life jumps.
The kit also allows specific scenarios to be simulated, giving users the chance to practice their response to life-threatening situations without any risk.
Do you think virtual reality could help train future paras?
