Troops on the biggest US deployment since the Cold War have started arriving in Europe.

Tanks, trucks and other equipment from the US Army have been sent on a nine-month rotation supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve. 

It's the name for US efforts in support of NATO after Russia's actions in Ukraine.

The operation has seen an increased air, ground and naval presence in the region, along with the ramping up of previously scheduled exercises.
