A Royal Marine who served alongside Sergeant Alexander Blackman in Afghanistan in 2011, has told Forces News he "was relieved" when he heard the Taliban insurgent had been killed.

Sgt Blackman, otherwise known as 'Marine A', has had his murder conviction reduced to manslaughter after he killed an injured Taliban fighter.

Royal Marine Rob Driscoll served in the same company as Sgt Blackman in 42 Commando.

He was at the next checkpoint along in Nad-e-Ali and shared radio communications with Blackman.

Our reporter Charlotte Banks spoke exclusively to him, and a warning you may find parts of it upsetting.
