Local business owners in the Highlands are struggling to come to terms with the economic loss they will feel once Fort George closes.
The 18th-century fortress is set to close by 2032, after 250 years of service, along with seven other military bases in Scotland.
It's estimated that closing the fort will cost the local economy up to £16 million a year, although the Ministry of Defence has issued a statement to say the money saved "will be invested back into defence, including the new maritime aircraft at Lossiemouth, or the new ships being built on the Clyde".
Forces News' Ashleigh Cowie has been to meet residents fearing the effects of the closure.
